Staff Details

Scott Robertson, M.D., President

Scott Robertson, M.D.Born and raised in Kentucky, Dr. Robertson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Georgetown College in 1993. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, he majored in Biology and minored in Chemistry while participating in theater and earning scholarships for academics and fine arts.

Upon entering the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Dr. Robertson spent his first two summers as a research assistant at the Price Surgical Institute. During this time, he was awarded locally and nationally for his contributions to original surgical research. However, it became clear to Dr. Robertson that his interests were not in medical research, but in clinical medicine and direct patient care.

After completing medical school in 1997, he began his residency training at Scottsdale Healthcare in Scottsdale, Arizona. While at Scottsdale Healthcare, one of the Southwest's most respected residency programs, Dr. Robertson excelled in clinical scholarship and received advanced clinical training in Sports Medicine. He has worked closely with the athletic departments at the University of Louisville and Arizona State University, as well as various Major League Baseball team physicians during spring training. Dr. Robertson was named Outstanding Intern of the Year in 1998, Resident Teacher of the Year and Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice in 2000.

Upon completing his residency training in 2000, Dr. Robertson began working for Paradise Valley Hospital in Phoenix. After earning a Master of Business Administration degree from Arizona State University in 2001, Dr. was promoted to Director of Tatum Highlands Medical Center where he served until 2003. During this time, Dr. Robertson served as a media liaison for Paradise Valley Hospital and a medical consultant for KNXV (ABC) and KTVK (IND) television.

Deciding to begin his own practice, Dr. Robertson moved to California's Central Coast in the summer of 2003. He strives to practice in the tradition of his excellent training and provide the only the highest quality of patient care and service for the people he is privileged to serve.

In 2010, Dr. Robertson became certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. This enables him to perform independent medical and impairment evaluations (IMEs) according to the profession's performance standards. IMEs are evaluations performed by an evaluator not involved in the care of the examinee, for clarifying clinical and case issues. IMEs are an important component of workers' compensation systems, and are also used to clarify other disability or liability associated cases. Impairment evaluations are often used to provide a more objective understanding of the impact of an injury or illness.

In addition, Dr. Robertson is the medical reporter for KCOY and KKFX television in Santa Maria. His segments can be seen every other Wednesday morning at 6:45 on KCOY News 12, and at 7:45 on KKFX Fox 11.

Dr. Robertson is currently serving a three-year term as Chief of Staff of Arroyo Grande Community Hospital.
